THE AMERICAN PERSPECTIVE: ALBERTA 51

THE AMERICAN PERSPECTIVE: ALBERTA 51

by Greg Meakin

Being a dual-citizen now living in the US, the Alberta USA Movement recently reached out to me for an American perspective, and my projections moving forward. I have analyzed politics since the Pierre Elliot Trudeau and Rene Levesque days in 1970s Quebec and have written extensively about the current Alberta movement.

My research and sources have made it clear: This time around, Alberta will indeed become the 51st State of the United States.

My Take and Projections

The Alberta 51 Movement has reached critical mass. For any of my American or international readers who might not know, the Canadian Province of Alberta is quietly moving to become the 51st State of the United States. The political waters up north have been muddy through the years with talk of Western independence, Alberta and Quebec sovereignty, and other groups seeking some form of freedom from the clutches of Canadian Confederation.

The two differences between the Alberta USA 2023 movement and any others past or present, including past referendums in Quebec:

1. Alberta will be successful this time around. Consider it a done deal.

2. Once the vast checklist of BENEFITS is considered and wholly understood by Registered Alberta Voters – the decision is clear, decisive, and life-liberating.

(Some Albertans will choose to remain status-quo in Canada and continue to be governed by Ottawa. I respect this choice of course, but to me, it can only mean pure emotion, or Canadian sentimentality, or both. I see no logical reasons once the benefits are understood.

August 2022 Update

1. The decision will be made by Alberta citizen voters, on or before June 30, 2023

2. REFERENDUM QUESTION:
“Do you want Alberta to be the 51st State of the US?”
YES or NO

3. The United States will initiate the Welcome Home Invitation to Alberta prior to the Referendum and deliver the Constitutional requirements from the US Senate forthwith.

4. 60% YES projected vote for referendum (only 50+1 required)

Author’s quips:
* In 2023, The Alberta 51 vote might pass 100-0 in the US Senate! Ask me why.
* As a rule, I don’t do interviews with the Canadian press.
* My sources can only be pried from my cold dead (lefty) writing hand!
